I think blogging is also a journey - as is life. Therefore, the picture will emerge a piece here and a thought there. being single and how I feel about it is only one part of me.
I came upon a sentence written by Mohandas Ghandi and decided it is a part of my picture. "Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will" Inner strength is definitely a part of me and always has been. As a very young child, I did not have good physical coordination, and could not run without falling. It took me 2-3 times as long to learn to ride a bike or roller skate. small muscle coordination was also difficult. My maternal grandmother, Ida, taught me how to harness my will, though she may have called it stubbornness. I remember fussing about something I wanted to learn. She told me Just walk around the house and by the time you get around, you'll know it." Of course, I tried walking around the house- and of course I was no further along than before I tried it. Grandma said "Oh, just walk around again." It took me years to realize that what she was really saying is that I had to put in the time in order to do anything properly, however long it took. I learned to apply that principle to whatever I did.
